What exactly is a Dual Fuel deal?
If you pay for your gas and electricity bills separately you’ll know what a hassle it can be. Just as one bill leaves your bank account far emptier than you’d like another one comes in!
We live in a world of monthly subscriptions; broadband internet, mobile phones, line rental, television subscriptions and many, many more. Dual Fuel deals from British Gas combine your regular electricity and gas bills into one handy bill, but more than that, they’ll save you some money at the same time.
Exactly how much money could I save?
The amount of money to be saved will depend upon the tariff that you choose to take out with British Gas. For example, the cheapest online deal available with the energy provider is their WebSaver 6 deal. It’s a purely online package and saves consumers, on average, a very significant amount each year.
That’s not the only package that stands to save you money, however. The Standard tariff remains the most popular package from British Gas and offers savings in the form of discounts of up to £112 when you first sign up.
Other packages on offer such as the environmentally friendly Zero Carbon will cost you a little more per quarter, but offer different benefits.
Can you tell me a little more about these different tariffs?
There are four different Dual Fuel tariffs available through British Gas, all offer different benefits:
- Standard. The standard package is the most straightforward choice. Choose whether to receive your bills in the post or online and save money through direct debit and online registration discounts.
- WebSaver 6. If you’re looking for the cheapest tariff from British Gas then WebSaver 6 is it. This plan offers a minimum discount of 6% against Standard tariff rates until 1st May 2011.
- Track and Save 2011. This tariff functions in a similar way to WebSaver 6 in that it offers a minimum of a 2% cheaper price than the Standard tariff until the end of January, 2011. That’ll generate an average saving of £60 each year and lasts for longer than the alternative option.
- Zero Carbon. The environmentally friendly tariff from British Gas will cost more than its rivals, but the added benefits more than make up for it if you’re concerned about the environment. 100% of your carbon emissions from the energy that you use will be offset by the energy provider and your money will work toward developing more renewable energy sources.
